The thing with nitrous is the more fuel you burn the more power it will make . If the car picked up mph and the a/f is in the 11.2 to 11.0 range go up another .2 and try again . If it picks up again and the a/f is in the 10.80s to 11.0s then leave it there . I typically run all nitrous cars around 10.80 to 11.2 anywhere in that range. When Ive run boost and nitrous Ive run 10.70 to 10.90.

Oh the tune has to deal with temps also on a hot day I may lean it out 11.0 vs 10.80s because it will not make as much power because of the heat on cold days the tune up will need more fuel so once you make a hit see the a/f if its in the 11.2s Illl RICHEN it up to 10.80s.

Pete
Thanks Pete,good info.

I'm looking forward to your end results and ET's it should be interesting.what do you plan on running for tires at the track?
You can get away with richer on a boosted motor, because you are using some of the extra fuel to help provide additional cooling. On an N/A motor, I would not go much richer than 11.2, as you will be getting into the ring lifting territory. People think that a rich tune up is safe in nitrous when it realy isn't. You might be ok even so with such a small hit, but that is pretty rich still. I personnally dont pay any attention to the afr gauge when on the bottle..... I go solely by the plugs. some motors like more fuel, some like less fuel. Most of the kits i've messed with (up to 200 hp plate) have ran best with nearly square jetting, and a final afr around 12.5-12.8, but i will be the first to admit that I only know enough about nitrous to be dangerous!

**EDIT*** ideal afr for n/a nitrous motors will be similar to n/a motor if tune up is clean....sorry, I had a brain fade....

i too don't much care for WBs on a nitrous pass either. plugs tell you all you need to know. start fat and back the jet up. it'll let you know when it's unhappy.
