Someone once told me, as an engineer to "avoid the temptation to try-this try-that."

I still don't think they really understand the root cause. My 2011 has had no tsb's and no problems. What's different about my truck?

Exactly. When I read the original post, I chuckled thinking it was a joke. Seriously, first a plastic deflector on top, then remove that one so you can put one on the bottom instead? Haha, definitely a joke. Then I Googled for the TSB and was shocked to find it was real. And after reading it, it is plain to see they are indeed "trying this and that". A stick on piece of plastic? And this does nothing for those with newer CAC's that have the problem. This is not a good sign for a permanent solution. That special note also points out how much less efficient the newer CAC's are compared to the older ones.

Am I right when I assume this TSB only applies to the Eco boost?

yes, 5.0 doesn't have a CAC.

If your NA engine has an intercooler, I'd suggest giving it a go anyways.

You don't have to get this TSB done, if the truck is not still having issues.........correct?
