My only real issue with Fords new engines.

Never drove the 5 or 3.7. Went to the 3.5 since its what I had in the Flex and man that was a blast to drive. It is a good strong engine, also a kick in the **** to drive, I just Hope Ford can fix the problem a few of us have. Sounds like the other 2 are darn good engines too.

Guys Ford's making the best engine's in any truck right now........sure we hear about some guys having problems......thats normal in a mass produced product...........I just traded a 2011 5.0L for a 2012 3.5L.......the 2012 is a totally different truck than the 2011.......both were built in KC....the '12 is a better running and riding and all around better truck....that's just how it goes.......Ford's are just better built than any other brand you can buy......some have a few problems....but over all.......Fords are the best truck built right now.......bar none!!!!!!!!!

I read about the new engines for many months ... like most all of us did .. before making the purchase. For my own wants and needs, I bought the 5.0L F-150 without first driving any of the other equipped motors. I was bent on my current truck because I wanted a RCSB with the strongest motor I could get in an RCSB 4x4 as a daily driver. Searched for months here in the entire state of Florida until I found one with the 3.73 Limited Slip differential rearend and select shift. Had no need at the time to test drive a 6.2 or a 3.5 TT simply because you can't get them in a RCSB.
My goal, however, is to drive the 6.2, the 3.5TT and the 3.7 to see what everyone is experiencing with them in average normal daily driving conditions. Seeing good things here about all of them, but, I don't tow anything at all and don't have a need to save money in gas mileage for what little driving I do ... just wanted the strongest RCSB 4x4 money could buy and I got it, so, I won't be trading it for anything else. It's going to be fun driving each one soon, however, I'm not going to say bad things about my driving experience with the other motors. After all, I won't be able to drive any of them to meet their potential ... just want to see how they drive and run.

I have seen some serious bickering between the different owners. But like was previously mentioned..... Nothing else compares to the ford motors right now so the dispute has turned inward. We should all just be happy with what we've got, cuz after all we all have different goals and uses/reasons for what we got what we got..... No reason to hate on each other.
Like Jeb, I was really looking for an EB extended cab 4x4, but ended up with the 5.0 cuz that's all I could find in the extended cab 4x4 body style. Being a mustang guy and having traded in my 2010 GT for my 2012 5.0, I love it and very happy with the truck and engine I purchased!
Now it's time for mods!!

I think in general...it is just a few that troll and get LOUD...and the better majority of members here are just engaged in friendly banter. In all honesty, Ford has given us 4 great choices to fit about anybodys' needs.

Honestly the only reason I got a 5.0 was because I had zero issues with the 5.4 before that. I drove the eco and liked the get up and go it had, but I went with what I experienced before. Nothing against any of the Ford motors. Before having the 06 f150 I had 3 dodges with the cummins motor. Before that I had a Chevy. When I decided I didnt need the diesel anymore I drove all the trucks and found the f150 was the best for me. When it came time to get the 2012, again I drove all the trucks and again the F150 rode the best and suited me the best. I am not brand specific, but the f150 has to be the best truck I have driven.

X2! My son bought my '05 FX4 5.4 and every time he starts it I want to cry. But love my Eco. Pretty quiet under light load but you know it's a V6 when under load; like pulling our RV trailer. It IS amazing pulling that trailer up hill in 6th gear though!! Great torque at the right RPM.
Enjoy your Fords guys!!

I only drive the ecoboost and 5.0 when I was looking for a new truck. I drove the eco first and it had plenty of low end power but felt slightly sloppy around town/off the line and like I was killing it above 5k rpm. That might have been just the tuning. I drove it first because I knew my brother was getting one. Then I drove a 5.0 almost identical to the eco just with 3.55 gears and it felt smoother just putting around but once I nailed the throttle I was sold. The smile on my face was from ear to ear so after that I only drove 5.0s. It was the best engine for me

New tech is nice to see in an American automotive company. For the longevity that past iterations of the F150 has been capable of I decided against EB because it's my firm belief turbos don't last 250k+ miles and I didn't want a standard V6 either.
