My only real issue with Fords new engines.
So I just thought I would post this and see where it go's.
So let me start by saying I LOVE the new engines by Ford...My 5.0L is amazing! And I've driven all of them... from the 3.7 to Ecoboost and 6.2L included and I loved them all! The 5.0L was the one that suited my wants and needs best so I chose it when ordering my truck. But all 4 of the new engines are amazing...Considering that in the previous few years the strongest engine offered in the F-150 was the 310hp 5.4L, now the base 3.7L makes almost the same horsepower!
So anyway, here's what bothers me...The only thing that bothers me is how the arrival of the new engines has in many ways torn the Ford family apart. I've noticed that 5.0L, Ecoboost and 6.2L owners seem to be very opinionated and vocal about who's engine is the best. The only ones who don't seem to argue much are the 3.7L owners. But I do miss the days when it was us (Ford) vs them (Chevrolet, Dodge, Nissan, Toyota...etc...etc)
Nothings wrong with a little sibling rivalry but it honestly gets out of hand sometimes with Ecoboost owners trolling 5.0L threads and 5.0L owners trolling Ecoboost threads.
Anyway, this thread isn't meant as a bash nor praise for any one particular of Fords new engines. But regaurdless I'm almost positive that this thread will turn into a warpage.

My 3.7L will whoop EVERYTHING! Hands down...end thread.
JK - I think Ford is so far ahead of Chevy and Dodge that now ford owners are turning on each other. Its a joke to compare all of them together anymore.
When I was searching for a truck I drove them ALL. For the money and what you get (Quality, and not government owned) Ford was my #1 choice.
Any sort of male environment is going to have competition...Its just how it is.

I have the 3.5 but don't have anything bad to say about the others. Everyone buys what they think will work for them.

Seriously, I didn't bother even looking at the other makes. Not because of brand loyalty so much, but the other trucks did not have any attributes that appealed to me (partially because they were all aging models that lacked innovation). After test driving all of the available F150 engines I honestly had a rough picking which engine I wanted/needed the 3.7L, 3.5L TT, and 5.0L are really spanking good lumps that combine economy and power.

I've owned a 5.4L and a 2011 5.0L and now a 2012 3.5L........I loved each engine.....they all performed very well in their own way.........the 5.4L was probably the tuffest engine I've ever owned.....I pray that the Ecoboost does as well....because the 5.4L is still running at 250K and I worked the hell out of that motor.
