Long roadtrip = ecoboost problems

Just another thought, when I was having my problems and the check engine light was on I was only getting 12.9 volts at the control module insted of 14.1. If the system is only getting 12.9 v instead of 14.1 that could have some negative effects.

Don't know from where you are taking these measurements, but low voltage digital electronics (for the most part) run at 5v, 12v, 15v and 24v and these can be positive or negative voltage. Since the truck is a 12v system all your inputs should be of 12v (+-) and then regulated up or down on the board or an outside regulator power supply. So 12.9v should be more than adequate.

It looks like you are describing the voltage from the alternator when charging the battery (14.1v) and 12.9v is when the battery has near full charge.

When mine did it, I only had the p0300 code. CoreyMS said he had it once and only once. So I have high hopes that's all mine will have.

TSB... done that... three times.
Aftermarket IC... $1000 for a solution that shouldn't have a problem.
Drill tiny hole at lowest point... voids the warranty coverage.
I love my truck. I really like the EB. It is without a doubt the most impressive stock gasoline engine for its designed purpose. However, the fact remains that there are a significant number of people who are having this problem. It's silly to declare something is statistically insignificant when there are no statistics to go by.

I am pointing out there are options for solutions. Thankfully, people have taken the time to experiment for a fix and through testing appear to have a viable alternative that will allow incessant biotching on a web forum to end and enjoying a monster of an engine to begin (or reboot, perhaps?) BTW - I disagree that a 1mm hole in the IC will render the warranty invalid. I do not think a tech would even see it.

Ford Customer Service
Have you taken your truck to a dealer for diagnosis? That is going to be the best first step in getting this concern addressed. In the meantime, send me a PM with your name, phone number, VIN, mileage, and dealer info, and I'll take a look for you.

Ashley,
I took my truck in and the parts have been ordered but I'm not sure Ford is taking the correct steps, by making the cac less efficient, to solve the problem. I have purchased new sparkplugs and coil tips and installed them. My truck currently runs better than it ever has. I am leaving today to head to Destin Fl and I am taking my truck. I will let you know how it runs.
P.s. does seem like the gas mileage is down though.
