I am sure the 5.0L is the best engine for you and your needs as it should be since you picked it. Although, the ability to haul 1000 lbs is more of a testament to the trucks ability and not any particular engine.

I asked the question to see if it was going to be a true race of engines or "may the most mods win" kind of race between you two. If it was a true race of engines then I would have asked ya'll to post the video if ya'll meet. If it was just a "may the best mod win" kind of race then I wouldn't have bothered to ask for the video. I was not trying to contest you in your "who's e-peen is better" competition so get your panties out of a wad and chillax.
Actually I bought my truck on 1-11-11 and the ecoboost wasn't available then.
I only speak up when a thread about 5.0 trucks gets invaded by ecoboost owners touting how their motor is better than ours. I'll go one step further and say "I'll race and beat any ecoboost truck around at the track after getting better gas mileage going there"!

This is the comment that drew me into this thread about the 5.0 engine.

And this is the comment that drew the Eco crowd in.
Many of us enjoy reading the testaments of the 5.0 until crap like this starts showing up. Pretty much goes downhill from there.

I love my 5.0. Had it in my 2012, and now in my 2013. If I towed with any regularity I'd buy an Ecoboost. My buddy has a 2011 Lariat Eco and it hands down tows better. Both of our trucks have the tow package and 3:55 gears. The only way my 5.0 outshines his is passing when empty over 60mph. The Coyote loves to rev and sounds magnificent doing it. As much as I love the five oh, the towing trophy goes to Eco.

(both of our trucks are bone stock)

LOL, I like it!!

Truth be known there is only a handful of ecoboost trucks that can beat me N/A. Here is a N/A time slip peddling the launch on my street tires. I know I can run a 10th or two quicker on my Nittos!

I didn't buy my truck to race otherwise I would have bought a Mustang. I too would enjoy reading about the topic of the thread as opposed to a pissing match on whose engine is better which somehow ALWAYS comes up. Let's talk in 5 years when we all have many miles under out belt. Only time will tell which engine is better.

Good point! Both engines are great, but in their infancy. Time has a way of settling all bets
