Failed MA inspection with Superchips installed
FYI,
If you have a Superchips tuner and try to get inspected in MA you will fail emissions.
They have changed the rules on what passes.
I passed fine last year with the tuner installed.
This year all but one system were ok in the system (the other show up as not supported). The new testing system will fail if you don't have at least 3 systems pass. Not supported systems no longer allow you to pass.
Just a heads up.
I have gone back to the stock tune and i'm doing a drive cycle to go back in to get my sticker.

I recently posted on the Livernois thread that I passed without issue with the 93 Performance tune installed.
Have you contacted the tuner? My understanding is that a performance tune itself shouldn't cause you to fail. If anything, it should make your engine more efficient(though I realize that doesn't mean cleaner). At idle, all temps/gasses should be nominal.
Anyway, I hope you pass next time around.

FYI i think NY is getting that way too. Over on the vwvortex (huge vw forum) we are having this issue come up in a few states that have the new emissions systems. Some of us are also having the issue where this for example:
Unsupported Equipment Fail (as you described)
and this
Some of our tuners are able to force readiness. They (the emissions standard - EPA I guess) have gotten wind of this as well and now if you go in and the system seems all the readiness has passed, the system will send the clear dtc code that resets all the readiness and drive cycles, upon doing this, the computer will then rescan the car and if anything comes back as "Passed" and not "Test not complete/Failed" you auto fail for modified ecu.

I went back to inspection station only to find out my vehicle was flagged. Had to go to a MAC center to be tested amnd flag removed. Once that was done had to go back to original station for my sticker.. What a pain in the ***. Next time ill just put the stock tune back on
