F150 hauling

I have experience with both, and hands down, the Ecoboost handles trailers better than the Coyote, but as has been said the 5.0 will do fine. If ya like exhaust note, the 5.0 is the way to go, and if ya like a lot of low end snort, choose the Boost.

From what I've saw the Eco pulls way better while the 5.0 will get slightly better mpgs pulling the same load.
I made this assumption pulling my roughly 4k boat. I fish with my buddy who is a 5.0 guy. my Eco pulls it way better no question about it. When he drives, (pulling my boat) he does seem to get better mileage though but not near power.

Good chart but it compared a 5.0 4x4 with an Eco 2wd. So, not really an accurate comparison. Most with Ecos pulling a heavy load report single digit mileage.
That said, it pulls strong. But both do.
Interesting differences between the Chevy and GMC. Identical trucks. Must be different hearing.
The Eco will tow at a lower RPM that the Coyote, but they are designed differently. Both are capable of pulling more than they are rated for. The ratings have more to do with a suspension and hitch package than the engine. Fired just pairs the Maxtow package with the more expensive engine. That's a profit thing. Nothing more.
Whichever engine you choose, you'll be happy. I love my 5.0 as do most. Eco owners mostly love their engine too.
Both are better options than anything from a different manufacturer.

If I tow my unloaded 1500 lb 6x12 utility trailer I only get 13.5 mpg. That's the best it ever gets.
Fuel mileage towing stinks and about 1/3 of what I do is towing. Come on Ford give me that new diesel in my 1/2 ton.
Advantages of eco are low end torque and that I can easily add a tune and up my hp and torque for my heavy tows.

Inebriated 4 ur safety
All vehicles in the competition were 4wd hence the off road portion of the test.

Thanks
Thanks for the information. I have a 2008 5.4 and it tows my horse trailer well. From 12-14 mpg. I usually have my foot in it.
How's the EcoBoost for repairs. Who has lots of kms on theirs and no issues?
