F-150 OEM Fluid And Filter Specs

Yes Mercon LV is synthetic.
I I would stick with Mercon LV and not cheap out to an aftermarket.
ONLY Use Oem Filters. No aftermarket filter can match the OEM quality filters.
I alwayse use OEM filters in my Vehicles, or who ever makes the OEM filters, I use their brand.
For example I use Racor Filters for the 6.0L diesel, Racor makes the OEM motrocraft oil filter and the OEM Fuel Filters.

I agree to a point, however, since Ford themselves do not make the filter, buying from the OEM that makes it for Ford means you're buying the same filter with a different name on the can. Also brands like Wix are made to the same specs (maybe even better) and are good alternatives.
It was well known when I had my 6.0 PSD that Donaldson made the OEM filters. With these gas motors it's not known. Guessing that a non-OEM is equivalent (same specs) or better is not worth the risk to me. I'll run OEM all day long as price is basically the same.
