Ecoboost owners who have had engines replaced

Just put our 2013 Explorer Sport in the shop at 76k miles because the engine lost compression on bank 1. The dealer is in the process of replacing the engine after Ford Customer Care stepped in and footed the cost of the engine.

High mileage?
David,
Sorry you had a problem with your truck. I would like to instill a little confidence in your engine if I can.
I have a 2013 F150-Platinum w/3.5 L Ecoboost. I have 125000 miles on it and it still runs like the day I got it. I have been diligent with regular oil and filter changes, and have replaced plugs and boots twice so far. Timing chains and phasers were done in 2017 under the TSB. This truck has spent most of its life towing on the freeway at 70-75 mph.
If pressed to find fault it would be low mpg. (17-18not towing, 10-11 with 5500 lb trailer load.)
I fully expect to double the miles on this vehicle before I get into the motor.
I bet there are a lot more people with my experience rather than what happened to you. Enjoy your truck, make it work. That's what they are made to do.

I am also sorry to hear you are one of the few. how ever have faith the 3.5 Eco boost is a good motor, I have a 2011 with a 3.5 Eco boost with 197,000 miles on it. have had only replace Oxy sensors and spark Plugs, turbo's are hard on them. I tow a 6,600 lb trailer a lot along with it being my daily driver. still runs great and never worried to heading over the Rockies towing a trailer. I'm sure the new motor will treat you well.

I bought my 2012 3.5 eco with 67,432 miles back in Feb 2016 and now I have little over 136,000 miles runs perfectly fine no issues, no timing chain replacement or anything and keep the oil changed every 3,000 miles, its the second 3.5 f150 truck and never had issue with either one of them.
