Ecoboost oil - Ford Service still wrong!
Just an FYI that some Ford dealerships still haven't learned that the Ecoboost requires 5-30W not 5W-20 so beware to those getting your oil changed. I know there are other posts on this but not since July of last year so I wanted to re-warn folks that the word has NOT gotten out to everyone yet on this.
I just happened to re-look at my ticket because of one of the bug fixes that didn't get fixed to see what they did/didn't do and just happened to see the 5-20W on it - just a lucky catch. Cool temps? Probably wouldn't crowbar anything but this oil change will last me until it gets hot later and that's likely when any problem would occur.
I frankly wouldn't mind running 5 or 10W-40 when it's hot.
Mine is fixed as of today.

It's a shame, and that is why I do my own oil changes. The dealer offers me a $9.99 out the door price on an oil change too. It's very tempting, but I just don't trust the idiots there to put the correct oil in or to not use an air impact on the drain plug and strip it; or to not clean up all the drained oil off the deflector.
It sucks cause it's a hassle to take the old oil in to the recycler.

If you are concerned about the heat, use 91 Octane fuel instead of 87.

Yeah same thing happened to me on my first oil change. Wanted the full synthetic so they put it in. Saw the ticket and went back to let them know it was the wrong oil. They kept on insisting all Ford vehicles get 5w-20 now and it even says so on the oil fill cap. So to prove me wrong they went to check the cap...and sure enough it said 5w-30. So they had a guy stay late to change it again...using the semi-synthetic 5w-30 because they didn't stock it in full synthetic. But since learning this they will be stocking it.

I have the 3.7, not the EB, but my first oil change they put in 5w20 as well instead of 5w30, which the oil cap recommends. Didn't noticed til I got home, so will be making sure they get it right on the next oil change.

I will not give them a chance to screw mine up.

So, they didn't get either of my three problems fixed and managed to screw up the oil change too.
Good service is really hard to find. I was pretty impressed with the dealership up at Iowa where I bought the truck but driving 400 miles to get your truck serviced/fixed is a tad inconvenient.

Happened to me the other day! Super frustrating. Got home and looked at the sticker and saw 5w-20 and I had remembered reading on the forum that they made this mistake often and so I popped the hood and looked at the gas cap and saw 5W-30. Very annoying! the dealership is a good drive for me and very inconvenient. Luckily they admitted their mistake even though at first they tried to tell me that the stickers were all pre-printed with 5W-20...yeah right. I showed my receipt and it was there in the computer. They changed it to 5W-30 and the correct filter, but I'm not sure if I will be going to a dealership to get it changed again! (oh and now the sticker magically says 5W-30...hmmm...I guess they all aren't printed with 5W-20) I will have to convince my boyfriend to do it for me next time or learn myself!
