Ecoboost misfire problem
I am at my wits end with the “new” to me truck. It’s a 2014 Lariat with 83,000 miles 3.5 Ecoboost. I’ve drilled the cac, put new motorcraft plug in it, and new ignition coils. It still misfires under heavy acceleration. Any advise on where to look next?

I’d having to go and look at the ticket again know the exact code but it was misfire cylinder 1 and then I moved it to 3 and it showed misfire on cylinder 3. I haven’t had a chance to look at the new code is yet but it’s acting the same way as it was when it showed the first misfire.

Time to unload it. I had similar issue and unloaded mine as quick as I could. Luckily I broke even, and thankfully no more ecoboost headache.

I just bought a 2013 a month ago, and this 0304 code started yesterday under hard acceleration. I had it into the dealer today and they came back to tell me I need all new coils with a price tag of $650+. So a couple of question for the group here:
1. Am I alone in thinking that is a ridiculous price?
2. I'm pretty certain I can do this job myself, unless someone can tell me why I couldn't
3. Any recommendations on which brand/model to install?
I'm a little disheartened by Bravo3Eco's response above. I'd hate to think this is the beginning of the end

That seems like a reasonable price (depending on where you live) I paid $800 for all new plugs and coils. I’ve learned my leason on just getting rid of something at the first sign of trouble because that’s what I did three weeks ago when I bought this one. The A/C went out and it would have cost my the same that I have spent in this truck trying to get it to run right. 😂

If it is misfiring, and they replaced the plugs/COP's, I would take it back because they either did a terrible job replacing coils or cracked one of the spark plugs. Or if you don't want to deal with a dealer, this would be easy for you to check. Takes about 10-15 minutes to pull the COP's and plugs. You can also try moving the "new" COP that is bad to a different cylinder and see if it is a "new" bad COP. Might just be a defective part.
Also to Techie, replacing plugs/coils is easy. Takes about 90 minutes to do all 6. The COP's aren't anything special. Just a plug right next to them and a screw.
I also wouldn't imagine that all your COPs are bad but instead just one. Try moving the bad cylinder COP o a different cylinder and see if it follows that COP. If so, replace just that one COP.

Took it back this morning and they put the wrong plugs in it. Whatever system they used told them something different than the SP534. Installed new plugs and all seems well.
