Did you drill the hole and still have the problem?

This thread is to help those with the problem, not for cheer leading by those who don't.

Specifically, it's for those the have the problem and tried this solution, to post their results. It's not for cheer leading by those who don't have the problem, nor is it for people to whine and but not implement this solution. There are plenty of other threads for those behaviours.

Was not Cheerleading, was knocking on wood still. Just sharing that their are people who do not have issues with the vehicle, to have hope not to think every Ecoboost is bad.

I've been subbed to this thread since it started, and not having had this issue with my own truck <yet?>, I really do feel the pain for those who do. What a mess.

With that said, I also understand that one of the byproducts of having this issue, even once (not to mention multiple times) is evidently irritability. -UNDERSTANDABLE!- But is there really ever a reason to bite someone's head off just because they say something that doesn't fit your parameters for a particular thread?

Common courtesy would be to just let a guy say what he wants and don't even reply if it irritates you. That is, of course, unless something was said that is untrue or devoid of any respect for the thread's content or intention. If that happens, then the moderators will/should get involved. But wouldn't it be better to allow someone's 1st Amendment rights in a public forum?

Sheesh, lighten up OK?

Not applicable. And no, we can self police if people have a bit of common courtesy to follow the request of the thread.

Back on topic here. I think I felt "the" hesitation/shudder for the first time today on hard acceleration at about 50-60 mph, in rainy/snowy cool weather. I am going to keep an eye on it, but I am ready to drill the hole in the CAC the next time it happens, just to eliminate that as a source of the problem. It's not my plugs because I recently replaced them with correctly gapped SP-534s. So the drainage hole seems like a low cost, low effort option to try.

What is the consensus on the size hole needed? I've heard 1/16", 1/20" (0.050" - leave it to an engineer!), and I think I even read 1/8" but that seems kind of large, so I'm thinking 1/16". Opinions?

Had only happened twice before I drilled the hole.

So the inner fins are full of water, and when he punched it the water flushed out of the fins, through the end tank, and into the outbound pipe (most of it bypassing the weep hole).
I don't see how there can be a way to eliminate that type of water accumulation and flush. The challenge is to change the engine/sensors to accept the water and still keep the EPA happy.
