And that's how this became a catch can thread.

Like there aren't enough other threads that discuss catch cans (for example: https://www.f150forum.com/f70/ecoboost-condensate-catch-can-post-your-results-here-250722/), and enough other threads for RX to push their products (see every catch can thread).

It's for this reason that I'd never but an RX product: pushy pushy and they don't care which thread they ruin. Zero ethics.

You don't have to use a high dollar catch can to trap the oil in the clean air side that condenses in the CAC with the water. All you need is a big one. Thus you are not putting bad things back out to the environment with the drill hole- only mostly pure water then. Without the engine block vapors condensed in the tube it is dropped to the environment and that is the reason for sealed systems. Most all that are sold on just the drill hole are missing an important regulation. If it were pure condensed water it would be different but it is nasty stuff you drain out that hole by the millions of gallons a year if all EB's have a drain drilled in them.

True, I'm old enough to remember the greasy strip between the tire tracks to avoid with a motorcycle.

What's the chance FORD will deny a warranty claim on the intercooler if something happens to it and they find the famous "pee hole" drilled in it???

In theory, they have to prove that your change caused whatever problem you're trying to have fixed under warranty. In practice, I just dont know how it would play out..I'm sure it depends on your dealership, your relationship with them, if Jupiter is in retrograde, etc....

It's crazy huh much of a problem this is for some. I guess I'm lucky bc I never had the issue but did the so called precautions early on. I'm tuned with a wagner and cc, also I feel it has alot to do with driving style. If by chance some was to accumulate it wouldn't be long before being blown out.

I know this much and this is all I have to go on.

When I went to install my CC I took my cac off and they maybe had two tablespoons of oily water. I ran that setup for 4 to 5k and installed a wagner cac, their wasn't a drop of dried residue to be seen.

Now I have over 50k and not a single issue or stubble. I would like to take the cac off just to see what it look like inside bc it's been over 35k with it.

I'm not saying anyone is wrong and I'm not saying I'm right. Just sharing my dealing with the issue. I always see talk of drilling the hole here and other social sites, someone just yesterday was saying they got more mpg by drilling the hole. Even though I don't have the issue it still crosses my mine bc it doesn't hurt anything to have the extra ensurance... but I can't bring myself to drill into the Wagner cac.

I've never had the problem with mine as well. I did all this as precaution . I did check my intercooler before the CC and before the hole. I never saw a drop. The catch can I would've done either way as I've done on all my past Mustangs, just to keep oil from getting in the intake and valves.

If you look closely at the OEM's Baja truck you see a huge can mounted there after the engine swap for the race and you see them on other race types.

This very thread is one of the few that you haven't completly destoryed, and was created to document the number of people who simply drilled a hole and solved the problem of water ingestion (100 % so far), rather than drop 300+ on a product for a different (potentially irrelavent) problem. So please, take your hucksterism somewhere else.

You are a crazy spammer.
Guys, I'm not Tracy and I never said a catch can would stop the condensation. It collects it and traps it for disposal so that it's not in the CAC. Settle down, I'm not a trouble maker and not looking to fight. My name is Tommy Thomsen, myself and another employee Tracy screwed over, took over the retail business after he sold the products to another company.

I'm a paying sponsor and I agree with you Tracy is a crazy person, that's not me guys. I do however sell the RX product and feel it's a great product that does speak to this problem. That's the only reason I chimed in.

I won't comment in the thread again but do me a favor and don't compare me to Tracy. YUK.

A cc only collects moisture coming from the crankcase. It does not collect ANY of the condensation that condenses out of the air when going through the CAC. As far as the continued sales pitch to sell a product.....same MO....please stop.....YUK.

Fair enough, I'm more than willing to let the past behaviours of other people not affect you. Good luck, mang.
