Eco spark plug gap

Swapped my plugs out today at 16,000 miles on my 2012 ecoboost. Per the info on this thread new Plugs Are CYFS12Y-T3 OR SP-534. Gapped all at .30. Stock plugs where anywhere from .33 to .40. Smoother idle and also on the highway smoother WOT runs. Third gear really pulls now where before it seemed to hesitate. No shudder when I cruised at 65 for 10min and tried to slowly accel like before. Very happy so far.

Just my .005 cents (not much), but it looks like you might run a little rich?? How many miles on the plugs?

Around 15k on them. Previous plugs were stock and had the same tune on them. They didn't look like this. Truck feels good with new plugs but its always felt good. My mileage has been down 1-2mpg since the NGKs were installed. Ill post if my mileage comes back.

Since you're running a tune you're probably buying premium ethanol-free gas, in which case those NGK's are likely not reaching self cleaning temps. Are the Autolites hotter plugs?

I was going to ask if the NGK's were one step-colder?
Could be a mix of additive and slightly rich by the pics, 1) the discoloration to a orange and 2). the sooty flaky looks.

It is the one step colder NGK that everyone tuned was advising. It was only after I installed them that the white build up on this plug issue was talked about. I bought the plugs that TurboPete was using and gapped them to .030. I've had them for several months but just now got around to installing them.

Did turbo pete's plugs work better. With the stock plugs in I'm only at a max of 3* knock and that at like 91-93mph....every where else is 1.5 or less right now on my tune.
My understanding is that the plugs in the 13's are gapped better and have better iridium tips.

I thought that previous years used a different iridium plug?? That's my misguidance then, because I was pretty sure the 2013' plugs were slightly different beyond just the lowered factory gaps.
