My favorite are the "surge" comments.... I think it a very good idea for people to really do their research prior to getting tunes so that you know what to expect prior to being tuned, but that will not happen for all. So, I give you a complimentary reference in the following thread; I hope this helps!

https://www.f150forum.com/f70/tuned-turbo-surge-272613/

This thread is a toilet bowl - as is to be expected with the cast of characters playing in this sandbox - a little slice of .net here at home.

Folks that have come in to understand and learn a bit about tuning and SSi, there are absolutely learnings to be had, even in this thread. The hope however, is that instead of becoming stuck in the swirl, you might continue your venture to other places where the focus is not to propagate drama, but rather to discuss and advance tuning that will make your EB and/or 5.0 into a far more powerful platform. I can't talk about where to go as mods, while they approve of this thread are not open to pointing you in a more positive and effective direction.

A thumbs down option to the previous post would be nice.

Not sure what you are getting at, but it seems to be a bit of a political dance as well, but I am glad SSI tunes and service has treated you well.

That surging reference and video link is definitely not what I consider a 'surge.' Sure maybe I need to learn more, but that's why I paid more for custom tunes.

Between approx. 43 emails, numerous phone calls, numerous data logs sent, being told "Ah sorry I put in the wrong rear end, you sent me the wrong strategy code, you really can't change your rear end, that stategy code you sent has to have something off, etc" and had sent correct info all along and then even went as far as sending pictures....then a couple of beta stuff tested and relogged, then getting me mixed up with other people multiple times in just email conversations and even sending me other people's tunes...

Interesting you say propagate drama *and cast of characters with a toilet bowl reference*, well I guess sometimes the truth is drama, but it makes me wonder if you really ever even talked to Shawn, I swear every time I did if there wasn't propagation of drama..."Website Mike, Corey fallout, bad business partners, guys stealing, PC crashing, PC backup service not working, moving/relocating shop...." that's all that comes to memory, but there was more.

Just make sure to learn extra good by paying for upgrades ( fixes that don't fix ), and don't have any tuning issues, because then you are fired as a customer. The only drama in this thread is coming from minions on a mission for free tunes from the poobah.

Looks like SSI released 'Gen 7' version tune today that fixes the cruise control surging that, it appears, some other folks also had. Only $120 to fix your old tune. Killer deal there guys.

Gen6 has been by far the best tune for my truck, but did have the surging issues with cruise on, and idle issues.
The cruise and idle issues that Shawn has been fighting are likely apart of the SCT issue he was dealing with as he has now ironed those out.
I had cruise control issues with the last tunes (surging 2 out of 10 locks) but they are GONE now.
That is one thing I did want to ask. What would most likely be the cause the surge for cruise control? I had it on my first tune when I set it at 80, but haven't tried it again

But hey, problem is with the truck and never the tune I guess right?

The "cure" for surge is ensuring you have properly gapped plugs and clean/properly working MAP sensors.

SSI tunes will exploit flaws in mechanical issues - because the tunes are turning the truck into a high-performance twin turbo engine.

The GEN7 tunes are actually updates to a previous generation.

Also, at the risk of being moderated, anyone with the previous tune purchased in recent history is automatically getting upgrades - I DO NOT point this out to market in any way - I point it out to demonstrate you have NO IDEA what you are talking about.

I would point out that clinging onto drama is a really unhealthy behavior, but that would mean you have to see your part in the experience and clearly that is not in the offing. The best part of the last couple of posts directed at me(??) I don't own an ecoboost. LMFAO!

You came back 2 months later to bring this up?
Why are you so bitter? Jesus you sound like a little kid that dropped his ice cream on the ground. Reminds me of the Eddie Murphy skit. You had a bad experience, That was you, not the rest of the planet. Get over yourself. This isn't some national, multi chain vendor, it's one dude YOU had an issue with. He didn't meet your needs, fine, put your big boy pants on and move on. You know why you are really pissed? Because it didn't work out for you. SSI has the fastest trucks hands down and you hate sucking their tail lights. Tell that to the hundreds of other guys and gals that are enjoying their tunes every day. Ford has had hundreds of ecoboost motors with the condensation issue, some that spit their guts out in the middle of the road. There is a slew of 5.0s with warped cylinder walls. You going to bad mouth Ford too and tell everyone what a bad company they are? Ford hasn't fixed every ones problem and there are quite a few that have a lot more to be pissed about than you my friend. But waa waa waa your tune never worked out, Shawn hurt your feelings, your mom pissed in your cheerios. Man people like you make me vomit. The glass is always half empty. Life sucks. Really man it just sucks to be you and it sucks that you can't move on from it. Gosh you must lie awake at might fuming about this. I bet you chew your nails at work and stare at your truck just WISHING it could be sooooooooooooooooooo much better. Yea I run SSI, who cares. I got a 5.0, runs awesome, i've heard all the same drama on the phone. Difference is, I don't care. I can't wait for you to come back on the forum and tell us about how your non-tuned motor went boom. Then I might be sympathetic, for now though you are just pathetic. Get over your self.

It's not a rant and I'm not tripping. This guy has been beating this to death for months. You would think someone was paying him to be a troll. Everything I said was coherent. I call I whiner when I see one and this guy is a whiner. I mean seriously what other motive could he have? Is he thew internet sheriff protecting the poor suckers on the interwebs? Whatever man. It's one thing to post a review, it's another to continue to bad mouth a product he knows nothing about. It's like he is saying there is no room for improvement. No one can learn from their mistakes and once you make a mistake you are always a mistake. Nah. I have just as much right to come on here and say it like it is and this guy is a punk looking stir the pot pure and simple. All he has is the past and a chip on his shoulder.

Well I am glad the OP posted this. There are a couple really telling things for me. One is the individual that got a tune from SSI and was having issues. The tuner asked if he had bigger tires and then all was good on the next revision. WHAT? Any good tuner gets a fact sheet from you with all mods which would include different tire size. And then the different gen tunes and you have to pay each time because the tuner revised his tunes. Complete bull. I have had many Mustang's with tunes and have never had to deal with this.

I am in the market for some different tunes and will definitely stay away from SSI.

As far as the OP updating this thread, it's his thread!! If you don't like what he is saying, don't read the thread! I think what he added is very applicable and I for one am glad he added it.

It's funny how the only company that has such backlash from a bad review is SSI. Seems to be a touchy subject dripping with drama. For that alone, I will look elsewhere for a tune. If Shawn is reading, reign in your fanboys. They are losing you business!
