Default Did I buy the right truck/engine?

Hi Everyone, I am a total new guy. My previous tow vehicle was an underpowered Suburban. I don't tow a lot, but maybe twice a year from Southern California to Colorado or thereabouts. I tow a 20 foot enclosed trailer with my Superformance Cobra in it. Maybe a total of 6000 lbs.

I bought a 2011 F-150 XLT SuperCrew with EcoBoost engine. Are you EcoBoost guys happy with your towing ability? Improvements?

Oh yeah more than enough to pull what you need pulled, the 5.0 or the 3.7 could even pull that.

If you do not have the max tow package, you should keep an eye on the tongue weight. I would suggest getting a weight distribution hitch if don't already have one.

power wise the EB will handle it well.

Yep. I tow a similar weight TT here in E. Tennessee. No problems. I agree with EBinMT to get a weight distributing hitch.

Yea it's a tough little motor on streoids. I tend to find myself being heavy footed on the throttle at times. So that explains my mpg drop also due to winter gas

Does SoCal get winter gas? You would think that they wouldn't need it.

If I am not mistaken CA even requires more oxygenators in their fuels than most other areas because of smog.

It sure seems like it....... when i first bought my truck beginning of September it would knock down 21 mpg a tank with relative ease. Nowdays its tough to get 19 to a tank.
