Update: found out i was leaking at the throttle body gasket. i was so relieved i found something wrong. Loaded up the new tune and...same crap.

5 star will not call me back for tuning. I called up LET and boom no problem they have tuned a few of my same setup. So i just purchased a tune from them, need to wait for my form now. He claims they made 440hp with 91octane and i will be using 94 so should be some impressive numbers

Now if this tune works from LET i will know where MPT sits at, and i will not be too happy. Its been about 6 weeks with a poor running truck and im getting very frustrated at this point.

Hope to come back with good news on my next post. Wish me luck

Umm, wait. So you're having a problem with a 5* tune or MPT? I thought you were working with Mike at 5* to get things going.

No i havent. A second tuner will tell me if its a mechanical issue or not. The gasket between the throttle body and manifold had a nice tear in it

I'm really surprised by the lack of service from 5* I usually will send them an email and have a response within 24hrs

It sounds like more than a tuning issue. But one can only speculate from 2500 miles away. That may be why some tuners don't want to get involved without having the truck right in front of them. If something catastrophic were to happen then whoever's tune is in the truck at the time is going to get a bad rep. even though there was already an underlying problem with the truck.

Hi Racer, I don't post on here much but I have done turbo's 2 times now and was pointed to this thread by a friend to see if I could help you out. I've read through your install a couple of times now and I have a couple of questions. I understand that having your expensive truck and upgrades not running right is an incredibly frustrating time, so please do not take offense to anything I ask.

1. STOCK tune. Not Mike's revised stock... Does the truck run correctly on the factory tune? Because it should... regardless of Y-pipe or any other bolt-ons. You won't make any more power than stock, but it should run completely normal.

If you can flash it to stock and answer that question it would be helpful.

Have you called Full Race? Correll is pretty good about getting people help. Normally Geoff would have popped into this conversation but this forum and him had a falling out over sponsorship so he won't be posting here anymore. He does respond to posts over at .Net and there is a large Full Race and aftermarket turbo crowd over there.

Yes runs perfect with the stock tune! Thats what im using to get around now. Ive also talked to Geoff through his email and he thought it was a boost leak. Ive pressure tested up to 22psi and no leaks now. Both wastegate hoses are fine, wastegates move smoothly, even put a new solenoid in. Ive cleaned all sensors and my throttle body. Voltage at the wastegate harness is over 10v also.

Before this install i was running a 91p tune from 5 star and was running perfect then. To me it seems to be more of a tuning transmission issue. Truck will hold 1150rpm no matter what. Ex. Entering the highway give it gas it wont downshift and instead build full boost and make all kinds of nasty sounds. Put it on manual mode and then she goes!

I also live in Canada so its more frustrating then people think. I paid double what they are with exchange rate and shipping. If i knew tuning was going to be so hard i would of left it all together. Hopefully the guys at LET can get this right, if not anything else mechanically i can look at?
