Anyone else curious why the 6.2 is not a major point of conversation?

In few years it may prove to be a decent engine once they get all the bugs worked out of it. In the mean time I will take proven technology that works for me. For the amount of money we pay for these trucks I don't need head aches and growing pains working with a new engine line up.
Ummmm, not that many. New engine for Sd in 11 as well. Debuted in the f150 at the same time

Yeah, I think they were in the Raptor first in '10 then everything else later. Though the F150 and F250 6.2 isn't the same engine, not exactly anyway. They have different cam profiles and obviously different tunes.

Raptor was a late model year available. Same basic design for the 6.2. Small changes for the different ratings. Remember the 6.2 in the f150, this rating is on premium fuel. Were as the sd is reg fuel.
Hard to get real data numbers on the 6.2 as ford groups v8 sales together. Which by aug 12 accounted for 46% of sales. I will go out on a limb and say alot of those trucks are 5ohs
So you 6.2 guys should enjoy your......on every street corner i see the same truck with 6.2

Considering its really only got the one bug, the CAC, and it's fixed in the new trucks and being fixed slowly in the previous ones. :-)

as far as I know it's diferent cam profiles, everything else is the same. it makes sense though, since just adding mild cams to the f150 variant takes it to just over 500hp.

magically it's only a 10hp penalty with no loss of tq on regular.

my Raptor was built in March, 2010 and it's a 6.2. I was able to grab one of the first ones (6.2) in this region.

Lucky you. Got love those raptors....espeacially with the 6.2. Would have hated to have bought an early one and then they come out with the 6.2. Did you ever drive a raptor with the 5.4?

No. The first one I saw was a 5.4, Oxford White. I was hooked. When I started inquiring the sales guy told me there would be another engine option. I asked if it would make that much of a difference, he said, "100hp". Me, "sold".

I have a '10 Expedition with the 5.4, it's no slouch. I would have been happy either way. The 5.4's are easier to mod.

Indeed, but the 6.2 is limited to about 550 unless you change the pistons.

Edit: that's 550 n/a. There are a couple running 650ish f/I.
