Are you referring to the new Livewire TS #5015 or the old Livewire #9600?

The older livewire wont support a 2011 vehicle and the new Livewire TS does and yes, it will shut off after a short time once you turn the key off.

Stays plugged in, has features to turn on/off with key, and starts logging automatically when you start the engine up again. There is a video demonstrating this and other features of the livewire ts on our home page. check it out: http://morepowertuning.com

I was looking on here for the same answer...lol

My Livewire 5015 just came in yesterday and am about to install it now. Cant wait but was thinking about this having to stay plugged into the OBD port or not (I figured it had to stay plugged in but was not sure). This is my first tuner Ive bought and I currently have a snapshot device plugged into the trucks OBD port. If I have to remove it then there goes my savings but I guess it is what it is...lol. Much rather have the tuner in it anyways since for some reason my discount isnt as much as my older s10 ended up being.

So, this tuner needs to always be plugged into the OBD port then correct?? And if I needed to unplug it for a bried period of time, it would be ok to do so right..

Thanks

To clarify my previous post, you can unplug it at any point if you want. The tune you install will still be on the vehicle.

Leaving it plugged in and using the auto on/off feature is for live monitoring/digital gauges.
