Default 5.0 Trucks

I am wondering how you guys like the new 5.0 engine? I have my eye on a new 2012 F150 Lariat Crewcab with the 5.0 engine and I am considering it. I had a 2010 F150 with the 5.4 and did not care for it much, I have had diesel trucks also and been back and forth between them, I do not need a heavy duty diesel truck for what I do and was considering buying this. Would like to hear from you guys that have these trucks with these engines, I have read about the good and bad with them.

I love mine. It's really good on fuel, and it's a strong engine. It will not tow like a diesel, but it tows fairly well. I only have 3:55 gears, and I would suggest 3:73 or 4:10 to do any serious towing, but mine will spend the bulk of it's life with no load on so economy is key.

I love the sound of that wonderful V8 as well. I think you will be happy with that engine. But it depends what you will be doing with it.

Impressive! How'd you get to those numbers?

Not too bad for a Mustang engine in a truck. Not quite enough low end torque for me but really turn's on at 4k rpms and above. Great fuel mileage if you keep speed's at or below 70 mph. At 2k miles I did have an O2 sensor problem and they had to change 4 injectors to get it corrected, no problem's since. Engine now has close to 25k miles on it. Do wish I had the 3.73 gear's to get rolling quicker with the heavy tires.

i love mine. i don't really tow anything. i put my 4 wheeler in the back once and a while. so i didn't need the torque of the eco boost. and i love that v8 rumble.

You're getting those numbers with the factory cats? Wonder what it would do with high flows?
