2013 King Ranch

4.10 gives u a hell of alot of power at the lower end which makes the ecoboost even better for towing. The 3.73 will also do what you need just that the 4.10 is a lil better

I was just meaning why the 4.10? If you really need that type of gearing then why not go SD. I cant see that much more power from my maxtow3.73 to a 4.10. It is still a V6. If I was needing more I would opt for a SD and get a real Tow truck to haul/tow.

I honestly dont know y it isnt offered in anything other than an FX4 like you said earlier it wouldn't hurt Ford to offer it in the other models.

Maybe Ford isn't comfortable offering the 4.10's in any of the long 157inch wheelbase configurations. The FX4 is the shorter wheelbase if I am not mistaken. I remember the older days when you had greater chances of having a balance problem or noise issue with numerically shorter rear ends. I am not a drivetrain expert and can just recall many of the things I read back then.
If Ford offered a 4.10 for my 2012 King Ranch, I would have jumped on it in an instant as I feel that would allow the gears to not feel as if it is trying like hell to operate my 5.0 outside of the torque band.

The KR is a sweet truck with the nicer leather, Have you looked at the KR MaxTow? I got a 13 EB KR MaxTow,crew cab 157wb,4x4,off-road. My truck has the 3.73. It offers increased radiator, trans cooler, and beefed up hitch and the tow mirrors. 3.73's are the perfect balance of low end and highway gearing. No doubt 4.10's are low end beef, but really suck on highway,,gas mileage will really be poor.
