So I've driven GMs my whole life and I've always liked DRLs. My fx2 has none. I read somewhere that fuse #76 in the front middle engine compartment fuse box had 12v after start up. Which is what I was looking for. I wired a 7.5A fuse tap off of that and ran it to both fog lights because I like that look. Works fine.. BUT all of the sudden the check engine light is on and it's throwing like 12 codes!!

To be exact.. there is no way this is a coincidence. I cleared them with my programmer and they came back after a few minutes of driving. What the heck did I do???

 

Why not just activate DRLs with FORscan instead of doing it manually?

 

My dealer said it's "not equipped" for drls. Who's knows, they might just be being lazy. Either way, I'm not a fan of the head lights or signal lights as the drls.

 

And I could be wrong but I think that's only available for 13' and up.

 

Figured it out.. fuse 76 is definitely not what I thought it was haha. Read some wrong information. All is good. Codes are cleared.

 

You can definitely download forscan (currently free, in beta) and activate this. I did it on my truck last week. My DRL's are my fogs now.

You'll need a fairly inexpensive dongle. Check the thread at the top of the 2009-20014 section.

 

Thanks Jonny. I will look into that buddy! I have it wired in right now, from a fuse that I'm embarrassed to say that comes on with my ignition.. haha who needs rain sensing wipers anyway.. I want my wipers to run where I put them. t's a short term thing and I will make it right soon.
