2011+ issues 5.0/6.2l issues
looking at getting a new toy, right now i have an 03 F250 with a 6.0l diesel. but it is only a supercab, i want a crew cab and nicer ride, was either thinking about a platinum or a fully loaded fx4. i want a v8 and i want to supercharge it, not to crazy just the roush charger. it would not be a daily drive it, wont drive it in the snow, just a truck for the weekends. what issues have you guys seen with the truck in general and issues with the 5.0 and the 6.2? not worried about gas, and not sure if the 6.2 is worth the extra money? how is the rest of the truck holding up to the extra with a supercharger, specificaly the trans?

A Supercharged 5.0 will probably be quicker than your PowerStroke was unless you have a ton of money in that PowerStroke and even then the fastest PowerStroke in the country has only ran a 10.42 in the 1/4 and that with basically everything on it possible. There are several guys on here with supercharged 5.0s, I will be roushcharging mine eventually.

If you are planning on super charger then I would go with the 5.0l as the price difference will pay for half the kit. I almost went this way when I ordered my fx4 with the 6.2. My dealer is a Rousch dealer so it was a tough choice. I had a 5.4 with the Rousch SC about 6 years ago and didn't care for it so that also pushed me towards the 6.2 left stockish.

Here's the power you will get if you go with the roush dealers tune.
Some of these kits do not keep the factory warranty but offer great gains. I know the cams, pistons and tunes are different between the mustang 5.0 vs f150 5.0 but they should get more than 50hp out of the f150 5.0.
Mustang 5.0 at 575hp Roush charged.

Mustang 5.0 at 650hp No warranty. Roush charged.

F150 5.0 at 515hp, 3/36k factory warranty still applicable. Roush charged.

F150 5.0 at 700+hp No factory warranty options. Roush charged.

my powerstroke is your basic tunner only truck with all the supporting mods headstuds egr delete,... haven't ran it at the track but if i launched it hard enough it should run about a 14 flat. so if could be around there i'd be happy. i like diesel but it seems like everyone is doing it, so a s/c f150 would have a sleeper aspect to it. most of all i need a better i'm getting old (24) and leaf sprung solid front and rear axles are ruff.

It was one of the earlier installations, I believe that the new ones are better, but I made more noise, burn't more fuel but truck still wasn't very quick. It pulled well but burn fuel accordingly. The boost on my installation was pretty low and if I changed pulleys it would void my warranty. My factory 4x4 screw Dodge 5.7 Hemi has similar performance. My new 6.2 on order should easily outperform my Hemi.
At the time Ford didn't have much for higher performance truck engines so I gave it a try.
