I had mine all replaced this week. Ford is warrantying the parts for 2 years and unlimited miles.

Hey Guys,

I thought this was dealt with, but startup noise just started yesterday after tsb was done last September 2015, now 17,000 kms later!

I started a new case yesterday and hope that ford comes through, as my truck is now 9000 kms past powertrain warranty.

This was my first ford. Very frustrated. I did not buy a truck that sounds like my old duramax diesel!!!!!!!!

You gotta be very specific with this. Which tsb was done to your truck? There's 2. Just the timing chain or timing chain and phasers? It's entirely possible to get the tsb done that only replaces the timing chain, and have the phasers go bad so the rattle comes back.

I can see this getting tough to tell if the fix works or not

Yes, this was the full fix the second time: timing chain and phasers etc. We checked at the dealership, it is the same as the most recent fix in 2016, but the 2016 tsb has changed the labour component and not the parts.

Now getting back to my old duramax comment. It was tweaked, modified and tuned and never complained until I sold it at 200,000, but it NEVER saw the inside of a shop! I can not say that about my ecoboost!!!!!!

So we will see..........

Thanks....maybe I will still wait a while then, that's not good. When my truck was done the only tsb out was to replace the chain. New tsb was released 3 weeks later, about the same time the rattle came back
