What design changes did ford do to the 5.0L. Same with the transmission.

none that I know of, other than upgraded software in the ECM and transmission

Some people have suggested a change in piston oiling was done to stop the excessive usage of oil some people were experiencing in their 5.0s. I don't think that has ever been verified, like so much we hear on this site.
