13 EB Stumble in rain
i have the infamous shudder this morning while driving in the rain, i knew the conditions were right and wanted to see if it would happen seeing as the 13s are supposed to be fixed. i was cruising for about 10 mins at 75, punched it and sure enough. check engine light blinked lost almost all its power, i put it in N turned it off and back on and it ran fine, tried it again a couple times and nothing. should i take it to the ford dealer to start a paper trail?

I honestly never thought i would have it happen, i drive the truck hard all the time. i have a boost gauge and i am in the boost constantly. I think the conditions were just absolutely perfect, it was humid, 69 degrees, and had been raining pretty heavy for 2 days.

I use the "if it hurts when you do that, don't do that philosophy." I roll into the gas and don't give it so much it drops 2-3 gears and goes high RPM. Typically, even in perfect conditions, half throttle is okay, but it never hurts to get it documented. With what I've seen of the attempts to fix it, I would rather change my driving some. I don't get those weather conditions enough to get rid of a really good truck or let the dealership slow it down.

I just had this issue with my 2013 (5,000 miles on it). Here is my thread: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/shudde...-miles-218273/
They are replacing the intercooler at the Ford dealership right now. I should have it back tomorrow. I can tell you this, you should not have to "change your driving habits" to keep your truck from screwing up. Anyone who tells you that, is a little to "loyal" to Ford. That's a complete load of BS.
It happened to me while passing a dump truck hauling rocks. If conditions were right, I could have very well been in a wreck over this. If the problem happens to me just once after it's "fixed," Ford will be getting my truck back and I'll move on to another company.
One day, this is going to get someone injured or even killed, and it will most definitely be Ford's fault. They should issue a recall on this, and most definitely STOP selling trucks that can potentially have the problem.
