You obvisouly have never towed a trailer in your life and had someone cut in front of you. Air horns have worked numerous times in my life to keep from killing some oblivious driver that cuts me off. Plus if you are going to bash air horns why would you even click on a forum topic named "Train Horns". Just stay out of it if you dont like it.

Only my 2 cents here!!

I'd be funnier if you could make the sound of an 8" HE round firing from a howitzer. That would really scare the crap out of folks. Put a train down any day.

I have been looking for a louder horn for a while now. Trying to avoid the on-board air system, but still achieve the 150Hz range (train horn in the 140-155Hz range)

The perfect system would be the Air Horn that comes on a siren. I haven't found an electric horn that doesn't require a siren and amp. I COULD install the whole siren system (no need or want for the siren tones) but I feel that it's an unnecessary expense to have when I only want the horn.

Are Train Horns even legal on the road like this?

Well, that all depends on who you ask/where you use it. Don't mention it where "talkers" are present, you know what i mean. Legal for everyday use, no probably not. Legal for smart use, not trying to get caught? Yeah, don't be dumb and you wont have issues.

Well, in good conscience, I couldn't see using it. My integrity means too much to me. People would stop trusting me. My word, character, is all I have left in this world in tact, next to my wife and children.

It was no doubt funny, but if I were the guy that paid the green fees for golf, I'd be pissed.
