Tow Mirrors on 2018 STX

Following, I just picked up an 18 STX with power adjust only mirrors. I want to also add the Ebay tow mirrors with heat and turn signals but want to make sure they are going to work when I plug them in. Not worried if I have to use Forscan to update the modules just want to know all of the wiring is there.

well if you pull your the mirror sail panel off, look at how many pins are there. If they are the same then it will work but it doesn't mean that the heat will work and if the wire is there then it might have to be programmed via forscan. The XLTS are standard with heat and turn signals on the mirrors. XL/STXS are a standard mirror and power as an option..nothing else.

Yeah, thats my question really. I have 8 pin connectors with 6 wires going to them. I can easily find 8 pin connector tow mirrors but I'm wondering if the 6 wires only controls the glass movement or if it also will give me heat and turn signal. ie do you need 8 wires in the 8 pin connector to get heat and turn signals. So far I can't seems to find anything that will tell me that.

oh ok. I thought you can order the led spotlights only on the XLT and up. But if that's the case then it's good to know. The XL is a base truck so I thought it couldn't be ordered on that trim.

Not sure too many dealers will order it that way.
Also have to get the 101A package, rear window with defroster, LED spotlights, and upgraded mirrors.
Adds $480 to the STX package I am looking at for the mirror upgrade.

The mirrors with The spotlights use a 22 pin connector which won’t work on the XL/STX package. You can buy a connector that converts the 8 to a 22 pin but you still need to get power from somewhere.

I’m looking at a set of aftermarket tow mirrors on eBay with turn signals and heated glass. My question is, will my 8-pin connector on my STX with power adjust only work on these. I could swear I found an article a couple weeks ago stating the extra options will work but I can’t find that article anymore. Can someone clarify this for me? The auction is saying the signals and heat won’t work unless the truck comes factory with these same options. Thanks
