Default torque wrench for "tonneau cover" BakRevolver?

So my new cover says to use a torque wrench set at 10lbs. I bought one, the click kind, wasn't cheap, and proceeded to tighten the hell out of these bolts. After a while I became concerned that thing wasn't working right because it sure felt like they were more than necessary for tightness and still no click.... so I stopped. My question is, do I really need this to be precise with this 10 pounds/ft or can I call it good with them being "pretty freaking tight"?

what torque wrench are you using?

10ft lbs is too low for any ft-lbs torque wrench Ive seen, they can be wildly inaccurate at the very bottom of the scale like that. It really should be an inch lb wrench, 120 inch lb should be well within the accurate range.

Thx, I didn't know there was such a thing as an inch/pound wrench. The one I've got says it does from 10lbs up but the etched graduations start at 20lbs and you just turn the micro-adjust down 10lbs,,, and it just seems like I'm well past 10lbs when I'm tightening.

Did you use inch pounds or foot pounds?

foot pounds per the instructions. I've ordered an inch pounds wrench that will hopefully be more capable of correctly tightening the bolts,,, 120 inch/pounds is about the middle of its range.
