Proper maintenance, driving habits, and driving conditions (city/highway) will have the most impact. Tune everything up and keep your foot out of the gas and that's as good as you're going to get within a couple of miles per gallon. A truck "is what it is" when it comes to gas mileage...don't expect anything earth shattering.

I just averaged 22.4mpg with my 2010 4x4 5.4 over a 200ish mile trip. I babied it and kept it at 59mph. I did stop for pizza twice and gas once. I Kept off the brakes and tried to time the lights. Not hard to do on a 55mph road, but would've killed me on the interstate. Just like my Fx35, I "could" get 25 mpg, but the way I drive it I get 18 mpg
