Default Sirius Satellite Radio

Just wanted everyone to know these guys are a joke.

Dont pay anything over $5 a month for this, after your subscription expires, they will send you letter after letter offering huge "discounts"

$30 for 6 months. Dont pay more! Tell them you have a letter for that price, you will get it!

I just saw a thread about this earlier but yeah huge savings.

You don't even have to wait till after you can just call saying "Hey, I am cancelling your service" and they will give you the same offer.

I don't use the free sat I have now simply because the audio quality STINKS! FM sounds better. I sure as hell won't pay for it.

Not only that, but the Sirius sound quality is AWFUL. There just isn't enough bandwidth for all those channels to have any kind of decent range. Everything sounds compressed and weird. Almost worse than AM radio. Ain't no way in hell I'd give money for that crappy sound quality.

I'm still in my free trial period as well. I'm on the fence with it. I think you either really have to like the programming that you can't get on FM like Howard Stern just for example, or have a real diverse taste in music to be able to appreciate all the channels.

With that said, there's always a good argument for Pandora or iHeart Radio that are similar and are free. There are more, just named a couple, and they sound better too. Rnlcomp is right, the sound quality is really not that good. IMO, should be at least as good as HD FM if you are going to charge that much for it.

Just be careful with the auto renew. I remember searching this topic here and found a thread with some guys getting caught up in that. Some also experienced some subpar customer service as well. Then on the other hand, my Father-in-law has had it for like the past six years and loves it.

Yeah, audio quality is horrible... I listened to it side by side with my parent's jeep and it's just as bad on there too... Sad that ford signed some kind of contract with the to saddle everyone with Sirius, I'd like to have to choice to go to XM, the quality (at least from what I remember been a few years) was much better.

It was my understanding that the two have since merged. Depending on your radio, some channel numbers may be different, but the programing should be the same.

Now that I've stop working out of town I wasn't missing it at all, it came in the truck I just bought but from work to back I stick with the local stations so I can hear accident reports.

I had canceled it in my tacoma I think it sucks and I am not willing to help pay Howard Sterns salary. If you call and tell them to cancel they will throw a special deal for like six months. I laughed when they sent me a email asking some question, so I said ok then the first question is am I a subscriber I check no, they only want only current people, so why did they email me. All I can say is thank god for the iPod.
