Driving exactly the same as prior to installation, I would expect, key word expect minor as in <1 mpg gains from the exhaust because it is removing the OEM bottled up unit. Now my plans for the tuner would be to drop my shift points by 400rpm on each gear which according to the Edge website, you can do. If I drop each gear by roughly that amount, yes it will be more sluggish because its shifting more quickly and staying in the lower RPMs where you have far less torque and hp but would produce substantial economy gains. I'm currently running factory tire/wheel setup but that will change eventually as well. I currently average about 14.5-15 but my 70m daily commute is 95% interstate. I have averaged 16.5 before but that was a tank traveling to home and back from school and was 60-70mph state highway. Anyway, that's my logic on the situation. I don't expect big gains from the exhaust, but I do expect variable gains from the tuner.
That actually makes a lot of sense. I have gained a couple of MPG from doing exactly that. Using the #1 trans only setting, turning down the part throttle shift points, and even setting the alarm at 2,100 RPM to keep me out of the throttle.

BUT..... then the real world takes over and you realize that you paid $400 for a tuner and a few hundred for an exhaust that you love to hear rumble, and you are getting passed by Amish people.

So you set the programmer up for more power, better shifting, and put your foot into it to feel the power and hear it rumble.

You MPG goes down 1-2 and you tell yourself it's worth it because it runs so well.

Or maybe it's just me.....

If I were looking for more MPG only, my Edge would have been a waste of money in my opinion.
But I consider it money well spent...
Just don't expect to see any huge gains in your mileage. The biggest gains will be because you will be trying to squeeze every last MPG out of it to see if it can be done.

I am wanting to do these same mods CAI, Catback and SCT Xcal 3. I hope I get better gas mileage but I know it will be hit or miss. I drive like an old man now just to cut down on the mileage.

I see an increase of almost 2mpg running level 2 on My Edge vs stock. That's all highway with a bed cover, exhaust, and intake also.

I didn't mention I have a bed cover too, it doesn't seem like much but on wind resistance its a big deal.
