Default Intake air spinners? 2.7 F150

Hi all....sorry for the elementary question but I can't find what these silly things are or even called (or officially do!) as they don' exist on Google or ebay.

Again...sorry for the basic q.

They are supposed to creat turbulence in the intake air. Claim to improve performance and fuel economy.. junk.

pure junk. the idea is that they cause the air to swirl going in. think of how the water moves when you flush the toilet. in reality it is only robbing you of air.

Tornado!

Always use the Tornado with a cold air intake and a couple throttle body spacers! Honestly though, they are a gimmick.

They actually make your vehicle faster due to the fact that you'll have less money in your wallet, therefore, less weight in your vehicle = better acceleration.

Kinda like the rim spinners that were a fad in past years....Made the rims turn faster! Well when they were at a stop sign anyway...

I tried the Tornado on my 2003 Maxima. Had it in for 8 years 100,000 miles. I can't say it hurt or helped the MPGs. So I would say it was a waste of money.
