I've run bilstein fox and icon on the REAR. Started with bilstein then went to fox trying to eliminate my bed shudder neither fixed the problem. Within 20-30k my rear fox leaked out most of the oil and somehow had 1.5" less down travel then the other. I got mad and therew them in the trash can later to realize they could have been rebuilt. Put the bilstein back on and was happy. Last July I bought the icon 2.0 coil overs and rear shocks since at 90k my struts were toast and have been disappointed from day 1. After emailing Scott for quite some time explaining what I was after for ride comfort and how where I drive I though I would be good. In his defense he did try up selling me the little resi/cds setup or said they have a low speed vavling but most are happy with standard. Went to order from someone and found the extra valving was another $350 so I took standard. I have them adjusted down so only about 1" lift and they are way to firm for my liking or sharp abrupture bumps, especially after what i was expecting and the money I paid. 45+ on logging roads and I normall don't flinch at potholes, but washboard are just the same as stock. I have the road master active suspension on the rear so perhaps theirs shocks don't agree with that, but I just pulled the rear icons and put the old bilstein on and it's smoothed out a bit. I'd been having issues where going down the freeway over expansion joints it would bounce the bed all over in a rythum.

Front wise, I prefer the way it used to ride with a 1.5" spacer, at least that way it was a similar crummy ride for alot less. I'm currently looking at doing the eibach pro or billi 5100 for the front and selling the coilvers. Ride comfort is subjective and everyone will prefer different. With my experiences over the years in my hobbies I'm done buying high dollar stuff just cause I can when something cheaper will fit my needs just as well

Thank you Brokemillwright, that was definitely helpful insight coming from someone who tried all three. I value everyone else's experiences (good or bad) and try to piggy back and learn from them.
I still have my leased Yukon for few more months so I might swap the passenger tires from it with the F150 and get a feel of what the ride is like, then gauge what shocks I need.
So far, it sounds from this thread and others that the 5100 and Fox 2.0 are better than Icons for on the road ride quality. Will also have to ask around about the Halo's.
I agree that ride quality varies and is subjective. Its just that Yukon rides so nice on the free way I am trying to get as close to that as possible while gaining some marginal ruggedness per say and minor off road capability.

Facebook comment on my truck Icon Stage 1 suspension,

Ken came into the shop earlier this week looking to upgrade the suspension in is regular cab 2.7L F150. He decided to go with the Icon setup which consists of 2.5” (diameter) coil overs up front and 2” shocks out back. Installation was straightforward. He wanted to minimize the lift so ended up lowering the fronts nearly all the way. This resulted in a 1.75” lift over stock.

Casey and I test drove the truck afterwards and I was astounded. It rode like a perfectly-mannered luxury sports car. Firm enough to throw it around with total confidence, yet buttery smooth over bumps. Plus with 3.73s this tuned 2.7 freggin boogies! My only complaint was that I bought the Fox setup for my truck and now I’m jealous!

Here’s what Ken had to say..
“Thanks again, the suspension upgrade is everything I wanted! Drove home from your shop via 167 west then south on 83. The 30 mph curves at the Basilica were driven thru at 45 (had set the cruise control never let off), the 90 degree left/rights before North Lake comfortably handled above 50 mph. Improved, ride, steering response, transitioning over bumps and changing directions. Nite and day change for the better. Made it fun to carve turns again! Front lift settled to 1 3/4 inches after ride home.”

If you are considering a suspension upgrade I’d urge you to spend the extra dough on the Icons. I have over 2 years of driving on my Fox 2.0 system, and while I really do like it, I think the Icon system is well worth the extra $600 compared to the Fox.

Thanks for stopping up and enjoy Ken!

Still very happy with my choice. I will also mention they recommended Fox at first and this was their first experience with an Icon suspension.KM

I would say run anywhere from 35-38 cold psi and swapping out with any of the mentioned rear shocks will improve over the stock. I went with the Fox 2.0 rears and did a hellwig rear sway bar, then threw a couple hundred pounds worth of sand bags in the back. Drove like a dream. Then I swapped from 18's to 20's and got rid of the sand for my last trip. It wasn't breaking vertebrae, but there was some noticeable difference in ride quality on interstate.

I loved all the information in this thread. I am in a similar boat, looking to do either the Billstein, Fox or Icon setups to get a 2" lift. I even considered adding them with the Readylift 3.5" system, but not sure if I want to spend that much. Definitely planning to do more research. A shop in the Phoenix area with a really good reputation seems to think, for what I use the truck for, the Billstein's are a bad choice and the Icon's are unnecessary. Strongly recommends going with the Fox 2.0 shocks. No personal experience with any of them though. Last few trucks I always leveled using a spacer.

I put my Fox 2.0s on my truck with 50 miles on it, 24 hours after signing the paperwork and 2500 miles later, no regrets. Havent taken the truck off road, but for around town and on the highway, pot holes, speed bumps, etc- rides great, handles nice and gave me the leveled look I was going for. Worst part of the install was getting the factory coil overs out.

I have had the Roush Fox 2.0 Suspension Kit on my truck since I bought it brand new with very few miles on it. I love how it rides. The front and rear are right at 40" high measuring from the ground to the fender. Check out my 2019 Ford F150 Lariat SE Modified album if you want to see pictures.
