True dual Flowmaster 40's here with stainless tips. Sounds really deep. Idles deep and low and has good sound when accelerating in the 2-3k RPM range. Absolutely no cab drone, can hear it slightly inside cab when accelerating.

 

Excellerator dual exhaust, Magnaflow 3.5in rolled tips. '01 5.4L. Love the look of the tips and the sound. More of a sporty tone.

 

85' 5.8 true dual, dual cherry bomb set up with 3'' pipe all the way back and 3.5'' chrome tips.,..,LOVE IT!!

The fact that you referred to it as a gadget should answer your own question. There might be possibilities but I do not think there are any viable options as of yet.

put a 2.5 in 2.5 out super 40 flowmaster dumped.everythng n frnt of muffler stock couldnt even realy hear a change n exhuast i was pisssd i bought the thng so i took it out and put a 2.5 in strait pipe in there sounds decent no low idle tone only whn steped on. i wnt 2 run dual 3in but i want a nice muffler n sound like magnaflo wat i should have bought
