Default Bak F1 seals wrinkled!

Any one else have this problem? I flatten them out but they keep wrinkling. It's less than a year old.

Weird. How old is your F1 if you don't mind me asking? Maybe contact Bakflip about a possible warranty claim.

I bought it new 8 months ago. I thought I'd check here before contacting Bak and see if anyone else has this problem.

Found this on Bakflip's site:

Q: HOW CAN I GET THE SIDE SEALS OF MY BAKFLIP TO LAY FLAT?

Sometimes, your side seals of your BakFlip cover will appear to be wrinkled shortly after initially installing the cover. That's because it's been folded up in a box for an extended period of time. But not to worry, the rubber seals used on a BakFlip have a memory. That means they'll revert back to their original shape when exposed to heat. You can leave your truck in the sun, or to expedite, just apply heat with a hair dryer or heat gun. See the video for a good look at how it's done.

Doesn't quite sound like the issue you're having ad but maybe it'll work.

The seals where the cover folds are ok now, I made sure to let it set out in the sun a few days after I installed it.

It appears that they may be shrinking which is odd and that generally only happens when you first receive the cover. I would suggest trying to heat them up to see if they lay flat, a hair dryer on low setting should help. If that doesn't work call Bak at 818-365-9000 and they will usually ask for pictures and then send out new seals. The only downfall is the seals are a pain to replace.

They use an adhesive and you have to peel off the old ones and then clean the cover well enough to attach the new ones. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance.

Thanks! I'm thinking I would not want to peel the seals off and glue new one's onto a new cover.

I did take your advice and used the blow dryer on it today, then I had to park it in the sun a few hours. Those wrinkles came right back.

I just got mine installed last Wednesday kind of looks the same. Some of mine is just the seal hasn't fallen into place yet even though it's been soaking in the sun for 5 or 6 days. I'll be taking the blow dryer to it tomorrow and keep you updated see if it changes and if not contact back I have the revolver x2 if it makes any difference

Looks like the seals are the same. Can you post pics of yours?
