On my 09 F150 XL, I bought an OEM wheel with cruise control for $200, then took it to the dealer and paid $68 for them to program it. Awesome. Thanks to Perchonthis for the help.

Removing the airbag and wheel was a piece of cake. After doing it once, I could do the swap again in under 10 minutes.

Anyone interested in adding Cruise Control to their F-150 XL that did not have the option from the factory. I have a Steering Wheel with the cruise option available for $175.00 plus shipping. The color of the wheel is brown and a OEM part taken off of a truck with 300 miles on it. I also will supply Instructions printed right from Ford to have a dealership flash your computer to recognise that you now have a cruise control installed. I purchased an F150 8-button wheel back in Sept of 09. The physical installation was not difficult. I took my F150 to a nearby very large dealership to have the memory "flashed" so that the truck would know that it has cruise control. I paid $100, but it was unsuccessful. I then took the F150 to a dealership 35 miles away and $50 later I had cruise control.

I think the secret is finding a dealership that has a history of successfully doing this.

I just took my 2007 F150 XL, 6 cylinder, to the dealership to have the cruise control turned on after having installed the OEM buttons I purchased from a Ford parts dealer. The dealership was totally flummoxed. I showed them some directions I was able to find online that detailed the process used on a 2009 F150, 8 cylinder, but they said the build was totally different and they couldn't find some of the modules mentioned in the directions. Spent $185 for them to tell me they couldn't figure it out. Does anyone have directions for reflashing the controller on an '07 F150 XL, 6 cylinder?
