Do not. With these newer vehicles with multiple computers...I would never purchase a buyback vehicle if it was related to an electrical/mechanical issue....a Powerboost at that. No way.

That being said....I have inadvertently bought a buyback vehicle in the past (shady dealer) and it ended up being a really good vehicle. I was even given full value of the vehicle during trade in.

Conversely, you can pick up a pre-owned 2021 Limited (which starts 10k higher than the raptor at 74k) for ~74k

What am I missing here?
The chip shortage. That is what your missing. The impatience of car buyers that dealers are taking advantage of.

Plus there are people out there who don’t mind paying way over sticker. There is a reason why prices are high the demand is there and there was some shortage in supply. Though that is getting a lot better recently. Also a lot of dealers are making more now than ever before profits because with Les vehicles higher demand their margins are so much better for profits than when say a dealer had 200 cars on the lot.

Very true! I've been saying for the past 14 months that I sense there'll come a time when Biden's declared mentally and/or physically unfit to be Prez which pushes Queen Kamala into Presidency thus awarding the 1st female Prez to the Devilcrats.

Supply and demand. Just the shortage of raptors is the issue. Normal for a new raptor to go for 20k over sticker nowadays.

Supply will increase when guys stop pulling out equity of their over inflated home’s to buy things such as Raptors, which has actually already happened. Google used car repos 2022, that up 40% used car price bubble burst awhile back. Couple that with the housing price’s dropping drastically. All economic “marker’s” say we’re already in recession and point to it getting much worse. Heck that’s from the main guy at the fed Jerome Powell. Buckle up.

I saw two new loaded Supercab Raptors on my dealers lot yesterday. With all the factory goodies and dealer extras they were marked at 99K. I about fell over, but if used ones command 96 thou maybe I should go back and buy one...

Raptor world is NUTS. I ordered a 21 fully loaded and after two months Ford cancelled my order. The next year they didn't have LFG so I didn't try again. I found a 2020 in LFG loaded here in town where I bought my new 18 XLT at. It was mint, 24k miles and a year old at the time. It was still MSRP which is nuts but that was the norm. Trust me when I say I looked around but I'm not paying crazy ADM.

I'm looking into trading my XLT for one soon, is this still the norm? 20~30k premium?
