Default Unlimited order ability?

Finally found a local dealer (large one) that is selling at msrp. They have ordered 10 raptors so far, 8 of which have vins. Im being told they are able to order as many as they want, just cant guarentee Ford will "accept" the order. I asked multiple times what their allocation was for this year, and multiple people at the dealer said they were not given one.

Can this be true? The $500 deposit is refundable at any time.

One dealer by me said the same thing. They have open availability. The dealer that I ordered through has 20 allocated. They are larger and probably sell more then the open allotment dealer. I'm not sure who is telling the truth, lol. Just waiting for info on my order now.

It just depends on when you want to receive your truck...

Isn't this allocation only for this year? Take it for what it's worth but when I was at the Houston rodeo looking at the raptor the ford rep said they will build as many as the demand requires and not make it limited like the gen 1.

That has been said time and time again by Ford, yet people refuse to believe it. 6 months from now Raptors will sell under MSRP like anything else.

Dealers are building dealer-internal queues

I have 5 allocations from Ford, I take deposits on 10 and enter all 10 orders

5 get VINs, other 5 are in the ether until Ford accepts them - no guarantee that they will ever get accepted

That's why the deposits are refundable

I've asked this elsewhere with no solid answer. I have an order in now. How can I tell if the dealer has am allocation for that order?

Get the dealer to send you your order confirmation with VIN

The Ford system generally updates each Thu, so you should know within a week if the order is accepted or not. If not, they can tell you why.

For me, my order was submitted on a Tue, found out it was kicked back Fri due to the carbon fiber delay. We went to resubmit a new build the following week without CF only to find Ford cleared the delay and accepted my order. Poof. I had a VIN by that Fri morning.

My dealer got a 1st round allocation of 17 Raptors. 13 are sold and ordered with VINs (mine was number 1 and being built 10/12/16!!) He has 4 more to order that he knows he will get.
