Stop/start is not a big deal....on my F150 2.7 it's unobtrusive and after a week or two of driving you forget about it. If you put it in Sport or Tow it's disabled.

I've read that on larger displacement engines the vibration of the engine turning off and on can become tiresome....I guess time will tell with the 3.5.

I went out and checked and it's just tow mode where it's disabled.

Default A simple permanent but reversible solution

Some where in this forum is a description of the jumper wire defeat on the SS dash switch. It works.

Start/stop was just announced for the new raptor, so it's relevant.

Also, 'defeating-able'?

It's clear that the OP doesn't currently own a truck with start/stop, so it wouldn't really be possible for him to read the m-a-n-u-a-l. Perhaps you could take time to read the guy's p-o-s-t.
And you didn't take the time to research there is online owners manual access found at www.owner.ford.com, and it's free. Just enter the pertinent info such as year/model and viola. It's not new either, I've been accessing it for many vehicles over the past 5 years.

Saw that after I posted. Even still I found it required to inject info so others may benefit.

You can turn it off permanently with Forscan.
