I'm curious - do you know what your truck is capable of pulling? And why do you think it's reasonable to upgrade to a class 5 hitch? Can you even upgrade your truck to a class 5 hitch?
I know my truck can pull 6800 lbs. My truck can handle a class 5 hitch. I looked into it.
The Curt #15303 is a perfect fit for the 1997-03 F150. It's called an "Xtra-Duty". A bit more stronger than a regular class 5 hitch.
