It sucks that you guys had that kind of experience. GO Courtesy Ford just South of Denver treated me great. I pretty much had the truck picked out and my financing in line before I walked in, so they knew I was pretty serious.

To be honest with you, I am the one that did them a little dirty. The salesmen let me take the truck for about 6 hrs and I told him I was going to go talk to the parents and make sure it was the right fit. When I came back to the dealership I told him I really couldnt afford it (I could). The next morning he gave me a call back and Asked if I had a minute to come back to the dealership (I only live about 5 min away, so I did) He threw in a Bunch of the bull**** (underliner, paint protection, blah, blah) and took a few grand off the price. He sold the truck and was happy, until I put $10,000 cash on the table for the down payment. I think he got a little miffed when he realized I kinda pulled the wool over his eyes but it is what it is!!! Great truck and low payments. I thought I saved my self money but I still spend most of my expendable income on it

Knew of a guy who worked at a tractor place. There was a old farmer walked in in overalls. That one guy went over and showed him the tractors he wanted to look at. Nobody else paid him any attention. The guy paid in cash if I remember right. Dont judge a book by its cover.

I used to work in a bank. I had a guy come into my office in overalls and an old ratty flannel shirt. He was asking me about the kinds of accounts we had and what options were available on the securities side. I guess it's a good thing I didn't dismiss him. Out of the front pocket of his overalls, he pulled out a check for $3.2 million. When he left, I peeked out the window to see what he was driving. It was an old beat up Toyota corolla. One thing is for sure, no matter how much money you make, you don't get rich by spending it all!

Haha back in the day my dad owned a shop in Manhattan fixing cabs. Always been hands on so he'd work with his employee's, and he was never into fancy clothes and all that. Well, i was being born so my dad decided to surprise my mom with some fancy $120,000 (back in 93) Merc. Convertible. Apparently the salesmen wouldn't take him seriously, either, haha.. Needless to say, he didn't make a payment on that car. Bought it in full.
(Note, this was in the 90s before the economy was ****. Unfortunately, he doesn't make anywhere NEAR as much as he used to now)

Many more years ago than I care to remember, a good friend of my father's was a "pulpwooder". If you are from the south, you know what I am talking about. This gentleman was a black man in his 60's, with gray hair and overalls. Now I had been to his home to help my father deliver a calf. I knew what this gentleman was worth.

He goes to the local dealer to buy a couple more trucks for his "fleet". Walks into the dealership and was ignored. The owner of the dealership just happened to be walking through the showroom and asked if he had been helped. When the gentleman said no, I was just going to leave. The dealer told him to follow him and took him into his office. The dealer showed him trucks, worked the deal, and was paid in cash for two new truck tractors.

I would have loved to been at the next meeting of the sales staff. You gotta figure some heads rolled.

That was one of those life lessons that I will never forget.

When I went down to take a look at a truck that was listed online I figured I would maybe eyeball it real good and leave, I sure as hell aint buying something I can't test drive but long story short they basically took my word that I was pre approved for financing thru my own source and told me to take it home for the weekend provided I have it insured, made the call on my cell in their office and signed some paper work but nothing saying I was actually going to buy the truck. (I fell in love soon as I saw it) LOL but had my poker face on.

I could have easily brought it back and tell them my financing fell thru and left.

I was wearing blue jeans and sneakers casual shirt, ball cap, just regular every day clothes.

I was just at a dealership while my sister was buying a new car. The sales guy saw me drooling over the black raptor they had on the lot. He threw me the keys and said "the paper work would take some time, go have fun. ". I almost drove a new raptor home as that was the first time I drove one or the 6.2L.
