From what I read, the organizer did a pre-run of the route. I don't know if they marked the kicker and other obstacles but if I was in that run and paid money to be part of it (not sure if this was the case) I would go after the organizer. I saw some of his responses and he sounded like a putz, passing the blame on Ford.

Some, new to the recreation, trade in the family SUV or sedan for a new Raptor and then, like Walter Mittty, dream that they are now a professional Baja Racer!

Excellent article and very measured/intelligent assessment by the Ford engineer!

....This is part of that learning curve. One of the things that we state in our owner's manual is that you need to do a low-speed reconnaissance run – you can't just find an off-road trail and barrel down it at 100 miles an hour....
You can't buy talent or common sense.

This whole thing is ridiculous. There is basically one guy behind it all, who happens to be a mod at another forum, who decided to leverage his position at that popular forum to create an enormous stink. And the 'media' as it were ate it up with a spoon.

Now that the video(s) are out, there's no doubt these guys were going too fast over terrain they were unfamiliar with. Period. You can take a trophy truck, drive 100mph thru a kicker you don't know is there or expect just like these guys did, and I'd bet you wont get away damage free.

Lots of fellow Raptor owners (myself included) are angry at this guy. If there's one way to get a truck like the Raptor canceled, its to start senselessly calling into question the liabilities and legalities like he did.

Joker boy found a good way to get a program canceled.
Let us hope that never happens.

Absolutely. Putz is an appropriate term.
