Ford still using IWE system
Thanks to all for the info. This is my first F-150 and I'm trying to learn how things work on it. I read that Ford added a water deflector over the vacuum module on the 17 and up models that has decreased the failure rate on these units dramatically. Apparently the older models allowed water to drip onto the vacuum module allowing water to enter the vacuum lines causing most of the problems. I'll hope for the best!
My 18 supercrew just had the iwe issue. 20k miles, and I couldn't reproduce the issue with a technician in the truck. I bought a couple of replacement valves at the parts counter. Issue has gone away. ...have a spare in the glove box, just in case.
