Default Cap on an SVT Raptor?

So a good friend of mine who owns a 2010 Raptor asked me "what do you think about putting a bed cap on my Raptor"... My response: "that's like putting a cap on a Lightning, it just isn't something you do, other Raptor owners are going to laugh at you".

Am I correct? (I am a former SVT Lightning / Cobra owner X2)

I told him I would get the opinions from you guys

Get tassels for the side mirrors, and some lips to hang off the hitch :P

A few people have done it. They had the graphics and carried it up the side of the cap.

You won't find one on my truck....

I'm gonna print that and see what he thinks...doesn't look too bad, but I still say it's a no-no.

If it was going to be used then why not? I drive up to Tahoe and spend the night or two either at a motel or campground then spend the days towards Carson City out in the desert riding dirtbikes. I use a cap to help cover the bikes in the back of the bed so ******** dont steal my stuff. Who gives a rip what somebody thinks about having a cap. Someone who bitches needs to get a life and stop worrying about your friend and his truck.

I agree... I think a hard tonneau cover, like backflip, etc is a much better option.

Well, I showed him the picture and he likes the fit / continuing paint scheme. I'm on the fence only because the Raptor is an "outdoorsy" truck. The last guy who posted their Lightning with a cap was ridiculed to no end.

And is anyone complaining? Not really, I just thought the SVT crowd would gawk at the thought of a bed cap...I still do. I've been an SVT owner since 1997...if your new to the SVT/SVO crowd, you wouldn't understand!

When it's all said and done, I'll post a pic...

I'm not a fan of caps, especially not on a Raptor.
