Default Tuner Chips???

Hey Guys, I have a 2002 Screw 5.4L Auto with 126k miles. I'm looking to boost performance and mileage if that's possible. I'm hearing all kinds of things about chips doing just this but wondering if the savings to be had is worth the money. I'm not a mechanic and have spoken to a couple of guys who recently purchased Superchip for their trucks with good results. I found a sticky on here with info but now I can't find it to go back to. I would love input as to whether the savings is worth the expense. Thoughts?

I have the Edge Evolution on order. Just from my shopping around I think I will prefer the edge over superchips. Superchips only quotes 3hp and 1 tq more than the edge does. But it doesn't have a screen that monitors all kinds of information like engine load, fuel economy etc. Also it mounts inside your truck so it's there all the time.

Here's the link.

I'd suggest EDGE/Gryphon. More people on here have EDGE/Gryphon than any other tuner/programmer I believe. Some haven't even posted in that link I posted above either.

I have the Gryphon (It's a rebadged EDGE for Bill at Powerhungryperformance) and it's great. I got custom tunes on it for my truck and it definitely made a difference!!!
