ready to push it over the hill ! 96 f150 5.0, truck sat for 8 months with bad tranny, finnally took it in to get used tranny put in. got screwed, bad tranny . anyway. got that fixed. drained nasty gas , new plugs, new wires , fresh gas, changed oil and filter . still really rough idle. i hear vacuum leak in back of enginge but just cant get back tthere . vacuum leak is audible for about 5 seconds after engine is shut off. checked compession , low-140 high 180 . all others 160. idle also takes a few seconds to come down after i rev engine ! HELP !

 

I have a 93 5.0 with AOD.Now, here's my problem. When I start it up, of idles high. Put it in gear and it sounds like I have an all out racing cam. Very lopey. Its bone stock. I've replaced fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator. No fix. I've checked fuel injectors. Clean. I've changed MAP sensor. Still no change. Compression is good and no leaks around heads. Also, no problems with distributor, coil or wires. And brand new plugs. What the hell do I do next? Please help me. The truck is an heirloom. My autozone doesn't have OBD1 code reader and quite frankly, I'm running low on funds.__
