Angry Intake fire

i have a 97 f150 4.6 ltr V8

truck has had its fair share of problems since i bought it and finally starts. it runs good at 600 RPMs and then catches on fire from the intake.. has happened twice and im lost on what the heck is wrong with it. before the fire problem we were having problems with it back firing from the intake and thats stopped. what can be causing the intake to catch fire??

Default Intake fire

Do you have a miss. Pull the plugs and do a compression test. You may have a burnt intake valve causing your problem. I had a 300 6cyl that did the same thing but no fire in the intake. Also check the timing. Distributor may have gone south on you. Check the ditributor advance. Just a thought.
