Default high idle
I have a 87 ford with a 5.0 and it high idles at 2500 to 3000. Has sat for several years. what could cause this.

Look for a vacuum leak.

If it happens once and awhile it could also be a bad IAC (Idle air controller) Try removing it and soak the ports with Seafoam deep creep. You may get lucky and it will just need a cleaning.
